Artist Bio:
The Traveling Wilburys were a supergroup formed in 1988, consisting of iconic musicians Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, and Tom Petty. The band's origins can be traced back to a casual jam session between Harrison, Lynne, and Orbison, which eventually led to the idea of creating a full-fledged band. The group's name was inspired by a slang term used by Harrison to refer to recording errors, and they adopted pseudonyms as half-brothers: Nelson (Harrison), Otis (Lynne), Lucky (Dylan), Lefty (Orbison), and Charlie T. Jnr (Petty).
Their debut album, "Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1," was released in 1988 and was a critical and commercial success, featuring hits like "Handle with Care" and "End of the Line." The band's second album, "Traveling Wilburys Vol. 3," followed in 1990 after Orbison's passing. The Traveling Wilburys' music is characterized by a blend of rock, folk, country, and blues influences, showcasing the collective talents of its members. Despite releasing only two albums, the Traveling Wilburys left a lasting impact on the music industry and are remembered as one of the most beloved supergroups of all time.
