Trini Lopez was an American singer, guitarist, and actor born on May 15, 1937, in Dallas, Texas. He gained fame in the 1960s for his Latin-infused rock and roll music, which often featured a blend of pop, folk, and R&B influences. Lopez is best known for his hit songs such as "If I Had a Hammer" and "Lemon Tree," which both reached the top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
In addition to his music career, Trini Lopez also appeared in a few films, including the classic movie "The Dirty Dozen" in 1967. He was known for his energetic live performances and charismatic stage presence. Lopez was inducted into the Las Vegas Hall of Fame in 2001 and continued to perform and record music until his passing on August 11, 2020.
