U2 is an Irish rock band formed in Dublin in 1976. The band consists of Bono (vocals and guitar), The Edge (guitar, keyboards, and vocals), Adam Clayton (bass guitar), and Larry Mullen Jr. (drums and percussion). Known for their anthemic sound and socially conscious lyrics, U2 rose to fame in the 1980s with albums like "The Joshua Tree" and "War." They have released over 14 studio albums and are one of the world's best-selling music artists, having sold an estimated 150-170 million records worldwide. U2 has won 22 Grammy Awards, more than any other band, and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005.
