Van Halen was an American rock band formed in Pasadena, California, in 1972. The band was founded by brothers Eddie Van Halen on guitar and Alex Van Halen on drums, along with vocalist David Lee Roth and bassist Michael Anthony. They are considered one of the most iconic and influential rock bands of the 1970s and 1980s, known for their energetic live performances and innovative guitar work by Eddie Van Halen.

Van Halen released several successful albums, including their self-titled debut album in 1978, which featured the hit singles "Runnin' with the Devil" and "Eruption". The band achieved mainstream success with their album "1984", which included the popular singles "Jump" and "Panama". Van Halen went on to sell over 80 million records worldwide and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007. Despite lineup changes over the years, Van Halen remained a prominent figure in the rock music scene until their disbandment in 2020 following Eddie Van Halen's death.
