Van Halen was an American rock band formed in 1972 in Pasadena, California by brothers Eddie Van Halen and Alex Van Halen. The band achieved worldwide fame with their energetic live performances and innovative guitar work by Eddie Van Halen. Their self-titled debut album was released in 1978 and is considered one of the greatest debut albums in rock history. Van Halen went on to release several successful albums, including "1984" and "5150", and produced hit songs like "Jump," "Panama," and "Hot for Teacher."
Van Halen was known for their hard rock sound, catchy riffs, and energetic stage presence. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007 and have sold over 80 million records worldwide. Despite various lineup changes over the years, Van Halen remained a prominent and influential force in the rock music scene until their disbandment in 2020.
