Van Halen achieved great success with their self-titled debut album released in 1978, which included the hit singles "Runnin' with the Devil" and a cover of The Kinks' "You Really Got Me." The band went on to release several successful albums throughout the 1980s, including "1984" and "5150." Van Halen's music was characterized by a blend of hard rock, heavy metal, and pop, and they were known for their party anthems and virtuosic musicianship. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007.
