Van Halen was an American rock band formed in Pasadena, California in 1972. The band was founded by guitarist Eddie Van Halen, his brother drummer Alex Van Halen, bassist Michael Anthony, and lead vocalist David Lee Roth. Eddie Van Halen was known for his innovative guitar playing techniques and is considered one of the greatest guitarists in the history of rock music. The band achieved great success in the 1980s with hits like "Jump," "Panama," and "Hot for Teacher."

Van Halen was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007. Over the years, the band went through various lineup changes, with different vocalists joining the group. Despite the changes, Van Halen remained a popular and influential band with a dedicated fan base. Sadly, Eddie Van Halen passed away in 2020, but his legacy as a guitar virtuoso and the impact of Van Halen's music on the rock genre continues to be celebrated and remembered.
