Van Stephenson was an American musician, singer, and songwriter, born on November 4, 1953, in Hamilton, Ohio. He was best known for his work as a member of the country-pop band BlackHawk, where he served as a lead vocalist and guitarist. Prior to his time with BlackHawk, Stephenson was a successful songwriter in Nashville, penning hits for artists such as Kenny Rogers, Dan Seals, and Restless Heart.
Tragically, Van Stephenson passed away on April 8, 2001, at the age of 47, after battling melanoma. Despite his untimely death, his musical contributions continue to be remembered and celebrated by fans of BlackHawk and country music in general. Stephenson's legacy lives on through his songs and the impact he made on the music industry during his career.
