Van Stephenson was an American country music artist and songwriter, born on November 4, 1953, in Hamilton, Ohio. He began his music career as a member of the band Blackhawk in the 1980s. In addition to being a talented musician, Stephenson was also a successful songwriter, penning hit songs for artists such as Restless Heart and Dan Seals.
In 1981, Van Stephenson released his self-titled debut solo album, which included the single "Modern Day Delilah" that reached the Top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. He continued to release solo albums throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Tragically, Stephenson passed away on April 8, 2001, at the age of 47, after battling melanoma. Despite his untimely death, Van Stephenson's music and songwriting continue to be celebrated by fans of country music.
