Vanilla Fudge is an American rock band that was formed in Long Island, New York in 1966. The band is known for their psychedelic rock sound, which often incorporates elements of soul and R&B. Vanilla Fudge gained popularity in the late 1960s with their unique approach to covering popular songs, such as their slowed-down, heavy rendition of The Supremes' "You Keep Me Hangin' On."
The original lineup of Vanilla Fudge consisted of Mark Stein on vocals and keyboards, Vince Martell on guitar, Tim Bogert on bass, and Carmine Appice on drums. The band released a number of albums in the late 1960s and early 1970s, including their self-titled debut album in 1967. Vanilla Fudge has gone through various lineup changes over the years, but they continue to perform and record music, maintaining a devoted fan base.
