Vanity, born Denise Katrina Matthews, was a Canadian singer, actress, and model. She was born on January 4, 1959, in Niagara Falls, Ontario, and passed away on February 15, 2016, in Fremont, California. Vanity was best known for her music career, particularly for being the lead singer of the girl group Vanity 6 in the 1980s. The group was created by musician Prince, who also wrote and produced their music.
Aside from her music career, Vanity also pursued acting and appeared in a few films, including "The Last Dragon" and "Action Jackson." She later left the entertainment industry and became a born-again Christian, dedicating her life to evangelism. Vanity's legacy in the music and entertainment industry continues to be remembered by fans and fellow artists for her unique style and contributions to pop culture.
