Vaughn Monroe (1911-1973) was an American baritone singer, trumpeter, big band leader, and actor. He was born in Akron, Ohio, and rose to fame in the 1940s and 1950s as a popular music artist. Monroe is best known for his smooth baritone voice and hits such as "Racing with the Moon," "There! I've Said It Again," and "Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!" He was also known for his trademark vocal yodeling.
Monroe formed his own big band in the early 1940s and became one of the most successful bandleaders of the era. He recorded numerous songs and appeared in several films during his career. Monroe's music was a blend of swing, pop, and country, and his distinctive voice and style made him a favorite with audiences. He continued to perform and record music until his death in 1973.
