Velvet Revolver was an American rock supergroup formed in 2002. The band consisted of former Guns N' Roses members Slash, Duff McKagan, and Matt Sorum, along with Dave Kushner and Scott Weiland from Stone Temple Pilots on vocals. They released two studio albums, "Contraband" in 2004 and "Libertad" in 2007. "Contraband" debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart and received positive reviews from critics.
Velvet Revolver's music was characterized by their hard rock sound, blending elements of heavy metal and alternative rock. The band achieved commercial success and won a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance in 2005 for their hit single "Slither." Despite their initial success, Velvet Revolver disbanded in 2008 due to internal conflicts and the departure of lead singer Scott Weiland.
