Vincent Grant Gill, known as Vince Gill, is an American country music singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. He was born on April 12, 1957, in Norman, Oklahoma. Gill has achieved commercial success and critical acclaim throughout his career, winning 21 Grammy Awards and selling over 26 million albums. He has also been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Grand Ole Opry.


Gill began his music career as a session guitarist and later joined the country rock band Pure Prairie League before pursuing a solo career. He is known for his smooth tenor voice, heartfelt lyrics, and skillful guitar playing. Gill has released numerous hit singles, including "When I Call Your Name," "Go Rest High on That Mountain," and "I Still Believe in You." He is also a talented songwriter, having written for artists such as Reba McEntire and George Strait.
