Vito & The Salutations were an American doo-wop group formed in Brooklyn, New York in the early 1960s. The group consisted of lead vocalist Vito Balsamo, along with members Tommy Carrubba, Bobby Mignano, and Bobby Arlin. They are best known for their hit single "Unchained Melody," which was released in 1963 and reached number 66 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The group was signed to the Herald Records label and released a few other singles, but none achieved the same level of success as "Unchained Melody."
Despite their limited commercial success, Vito & The Salutations are remembered as a talented doo-wop group that contributed to the vibrant music scene of the 1960s. Their smooth harmonies and soulful vocals captured the essence of the doo-wop genre, and their music continues to be enjoyed by fans of classic doo-wop music.
