Artist Bio:
Vixen is an American all-female rock band that was formed in 1980 in St. Paul, Minnesota. The band achieved commercial success in the late 1980s and early 1990s with their glam metal sound. The original lineup consisted of Janet Gardner on vocals and guitar, Jan Kuehnemund on guitar, Share Pedersen on bass, and Roxy Petrucci on drums. Vixen's self-titled debut album was released in 1988 and included hits like "Edge of a Broken Heart" and "Cryin'." The band toured extensively and gained a loyal fan base during this time.
Vixen disbanded in the early 1990s but reunited in 1997 with a slightly modified lineup. They continued to release new music and tour, with various lineup changes over the years. Vixen's music has been featured in movies and television shows, and they have remained a popular draw for live performances. The band has faced challenges and tragedies, including the passing of founding member Jan Kuehnemund in 2013. Despite these setbacks, Vixen continues to perform and record music, carrying on their legacy as pioneers in the male-dominated rock genre.
