Artist Bio:
Vixen is an all-female rock band that was formed in 1980 in St. Paul, Minnesota. The band gained popularity in the 1980s and 1990s for their glam metal and hard rock sound. The original lineup consisted of Janet Gardner on vocals and guitar, Jan Kuehnemund on guitar, Share Ross on bass, and Roxy Petrucci on drums. Vixen released their self-titled debut album in 1988, which included the hit singles "Edge of a Broken Heart" and "Cryin'." The band went on to release several more albums, including "Rev It Up" in 1990 and "Tangerine" in 1998. Vixen has experienced various lineup changes over the years but continues to perform and tour.
Despite their success in the 1980s and 1990s, Vixen faced challenges in the male-dominated rock music industry. However, the band's music and powerful performances have earned them a dedicated fan base and solidified their place in rock music history. Vixen's influence on female rock musicians and their contributions to the rock music scene have cemented their legacy as trailblazers for women in rock.
