Artist Bio:
Wade Flemons was an American singer, songwriter, and musician known for his work in the genres of soul, R&B, and doo-wop. He began his music career in the 1950s as a member of the group The Moroccos before joining the R&B group The Flamingos in the early 1960s. Flemons later embarked on a solo career and released several singles, including "Here I Stand" and "Jeanette." He also co-wrote the hit song "Fortune Teller," which was later covered by The Rolling Stones.
In the late 1960s, Wade Flemons formed a new group called The Newcomers. The group consisted of Flemons along with Bobby Miller, Rosie Brown, and Eddie MacDonald. The Newcomers released several singles, including "Mannish Boy" and "Pin the Tail on the Donkey." They achieved moderate success in the R&B music scene during the late 1960s and early 1970s.
