Jackson signed with Okeh Records, a subsidiary of Columbia Records, in 1964 and released several successful singles and albums during his career.
One of his most well-known songs, "Speak Her Name," reached the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1965. Jackson's music was characterized by his emotive vocal delivery and heartfelt lyrics, which resonated with audiences. Despite his talent and critical acclaim, Jackson never achieved mainstream success on the level of some of his contemporaries.
