Walter Wanderley (1932-1986) was a Brazilian organist and pianist known for his contributions to the bossa nova and samba genres. He rose to fame in the 1960s with his distinctive blend of jazz, pop, and Brazilian music, characterized by his use of the electric organ. Wanderley's music was widely popular in the United States, where he released several albums on the Verve label and had a hit single with the song "Summer Samba (So Nice)" in 1966.


Wanderley's music is often praised for its upbeat and infectious rhythms, as well as his virtuosic organ playing. He collaborated with many other musicians during his career, including Sergio Mendes and Astrud Gilberto. Despite his untimely death in 1986, Walter Wanderley's music continues to be celebrated by fans of bossa nova and Latin jazz around the world.
