Artist Bio:
War is a funk band formed in Long Beach, California in 1969. The group was originally called Eric Burdon and War, as they were backing up singer Eric Burdon, formerly of the Animals. The band later separated from Burdon and continued as War. Their music incorporates elements of funk, jazz, R&B, and rock, creating a unique sound that became popular in the 1970s.

War achieved success with songs like "Low Rider," "Why Can't We Be Friends?" and "Spill the Wine." The band's music often includes socially conscious lyrics, addressing topics such as poverty, racism, and urban life. War's eclectic style and influential sound have earned them a lasting legacy in the music industry, with several members of the original lineup still performing together.
