Warren Zevon was an American rock singer-songwriter known for his darkly humorous and often sardonic lyrics. He was born on January 24, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, and passed away on September 7, 2003, in Los Angeles, California. Zevon released over a dozen albums throughout his career, with his most famous being "Excitable Boy" released in 1978. The album featured the hit single "Werewolves of London," which remains one of his most recognizable songs.


Zevon was highly regarded by critics and fellow musicians for his storytelling prowess and unique songwriting style. He collaborated with artists such as Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt, and the Eagles, among others. Zevon's music often explored themes of love, loss, and mortality, and he continued to release albums up until his death from lung cancer in 2003.
