Song Info:
"Theme from The Dukes of Hazzard (Good Ol' Boys)" by Waylon Jennings was released in August 1980 as the second single from his album Music Man. Jennings wrote and performed the song as the theme for the popular CBS television series The Dukes of Hazzard, where he also served as the show's narrator. The song quickly became iconic, reaching #1 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart in 1980. Two versions exist: the familiar TV theme and a longer commercial version with added lyrics and a playful nod to Jennings’ role in the show. The track remains one of Jennings' best-known songs and is a staple of both country music and television theme history.
