Waylon Jennings, born Waylon Arnold Jennings on June 15, 1937, in Littlefield, Texas, was an influential American country singer, songwriter, and musician. A key figure in the outlaw country movement, Jennings was known for his deep voice, distinctive sound, and rebellious attitude. He started his career as a radio DJ and played bass for Buddy Holly before launching his own solo career. In the 1970s, Jennings rose to fame with a series of hit albums and singles, earning a reputation for challenging the conventions of the Nashville music industry. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2001 and is remembered as a pioneer who left a lasting mark on country music. Jennings passed away on February 13, 2002.
