White Lion was a rock band formed in New York City in 1983. The band was founded by Danish singer and guitarist Vito Bratta and lead vocalist Mike Tramp. White Lion achieved significant commercial success in the late 1980s with their hit singles "Wait" and "When the Children Cry" from their second album, "Pride," released in 1987. The album reached double platinum status in the United States and peaked at number 11 on the Billboard 200 chart.


White Lion's music was characterized by their melodic hard rock sound and power ballads, which resonated with audiences during the glam metal era. The band released a total of five studio albums before disbanding in 1992. Despite various lineup changes over the years, White Lion's music continues to be celebrated by fans of 1980s rock music.
