Wilmer and the Dukes was a musical group formed in Washington, D.C. in the 1960s. The band was led by Wilmer Alexander Jr., who served as the lead vocalist and saxophonist. They were known for their energetic live performances and a unique sound that blended elements of soul, funk, and rhythm and blues.


One of their most popular songs was "Give Me One More Chance," released in 1968, which became a regional hit in the Washington, D.C. area. Wilmer and the Dukes gained a loyal following for their dynamic stage presence and tight musicianship. Despite their local success, the band never achieved national acclaim and eventually disbanded in the early 1970s. However, their music has since gained a cult following among soul music enthusiasts and collectors.
