Wilson Pickett was an influential American R&B and soul singer who rose to fame in the 1960s. Born on March 18, 1941, in Prattville, Alabama, Pickett was known for his powerful, gritty voice and energetic stage presence. He began his music career as a member of The Falcons before launching a successful solo career.


Pickett is best known for hits such as "In the Midnight Hour," "Mustang Sally," and "Land of a Thousand Dances." He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991 and is considered one of the greatest soul singers of all time. Pickett passed away on January 19, 2006, but his music continues to be celebrated and influential in the world of R&B and soul music.
