He was known for his powerful and energetic vocal style, earning him the nickname "The Wicked Pickett." Pickett began his music career in the 1950s as a member of vocal groups before launching a successful solo career in the 1960s.


One of Pickett's most famous hits is "In the Midnight Hour," released in 1965, which became a soul music classic. He also had other successful songs such as "Mustang Sally" and "Land of 1000 Dances." Pickett was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991, recognizing his significant contributions to the music industry. He passed away on January 19, 2006, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the world of soul music.
