Wreckx-N-Effect was an American new jack swing group formed in 1989 in Harlem, New York City. The group consisted of members Markell Riley, Aqil Davidson, Brandon Mitchell, and Keith Sweat. They were best known for their hit single "Rump Shaker," which was released in 1992 and reached number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song was a commercial success and helped to establish the group's popularity in the music industry.


In addition to "Rump Shaker," Wreckx-N-Effect released other successful singles such as "New Jack Swing" and "My Cutie." They were known for their energetic performances and catchy hooks, which contributed to their success in the new jack swing genre.
