Xscape is an American female R&B vocal group formed in the early 1990s. The group originally consisted of sisters LaTocha and Tamika Scott, as well as Kandi Burruss and Tameka "Tiny" Cottle. Xscape gained popularity in the 1990s with hits such as "Just Kickin' It" and "Understanding". They were known for their soulful harmonies and powerful vocal performances. Over the years, Xscape has received several awards and nominations, including a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.


MC Lyte, whose real name is Lana Michelle Moorer, is an American rapper and songwriter known for her pioneering contributions to hip hop music. She gained fame in the late 1980s and early 1990s with hits like "Paper Thin" and "Ruffneck". MC Lyte is considered one of the first female rappers to achieve success in the male-dominated hip hop industry. Her lyrical skills and socially conscious messages have earned her critical acclaim and respect within the music industry. MC Lyte collaborated with Xscape on the remix of their hit song "Keep On, Keepin' On", which was featured on the soundtrack of the film "Sunset Park".
