Yaz is a British musician who gained fame in the 1980s as part of the synth-pop duo Yazoo. The duo consisted of Yaz and Vince Clarke, with Yaz providing the vocals and Clarke playing the instruments. Yazoo released two albums, "Upstairs at Eric's" in 1982 and "You and Me Both" in 1983, both of which were well-received critically and commercially. Their most famous songs include "Don't Go" and "Only You."
After Yazoo disbanded in 1983, Yaz embarked on a successful solo career, releasing several albums under the name Yaz. She continued to explore electronic and dance music, with hits like "Situation" and "Nobody's Diary." Yaz remains a respected figure in the electronic music scene, known for her distinctive voice and innovative approach to synth-pop music.
