Y&T is an American hard rock/heavy metal band formed in 1974 in Oakland, California. The band's original lineup consisted of members Dave Meniketti (vocals, lead guitar), Phil Kennemore (bass), Leonard Haze (drums), and Joey Alves (rhythm guitar). Y&T's music is characterized by heavy guitar riffs, melodic hooks, and powerful vocals, drawing influences from bands like Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple.
Throughout their career, Y&T has released several albums, including "Earthshaker" (1981), "Black Tiger" (1982), and "Mean Streak" (1983), which are considered some of their most successful works. The band achieved moderate commercial success in the 1980s and gained a loyal fanbase for their energetic live performances. Y&T continues to tour and release new music, with Dave Meniketti being the only original member still in the band.
