Yvonne Elliman is an American singer, songwriter, and actress who gained fame in the 1970s. She was born on December 29, 1951, in Honolulu, Hawaii. Elliman first gained recognition as a singer in the rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar, where she played the role of Mary Magdalene both on stage and in the film adaptation released in 1973. Her performance of the song "I Don't Know How to Love Him" from the musical became a hit and helped launch her music career.


In addition to her work in Jesus Christ Superstar, Elliman had a successful solo music career, releasing several albums and hit singles in the 1970s. She is perhaps best known for her disco hits "If I Can't Have You" and "Love Pains." Elliman continues to perform and record music, and her contributions to the music industry have made her a respected figure in the world of pop and disco music.
