Artist Bio:
Zapp & Roger were an American funk band formed in the late 1970s, consisting of the brothers Roger Troutman and Larry Troutman. The group is best known for their use of the talk box, a device that allows musicians to modify the sound of a musical instrument by shaping the frequency content of the sound waves produced. Zapp & Roger's music is characterized by its heavy use of synthesizers, funky basslines, and Roger Troutman's distinctive vocoder-aided vocals.

The band released several successful albums in the 1980s, including their self-titled debut album in 1980 and their most successful album, "The New Zapp IV U," in 1985. Their hit singles include "More Bounce to the Ounce," "Dance Floor," and "I Want to Be Your Man." Zapp & Roger's music has been highly influential in the development of funk and electro music, and they are considered pioneers of the electro-funk genre. Tragically, Roger Troutman was fatally shot by his brother Larry in 1999 before Larry committed suicide, marking the end of the band's legacy.
