Z.Z. Hill was an American blues and soul singer known for his powerful and soulful voice. He was born Arziel Hill in Naples, Texas on September 30, 1935. Hill began his music career in the 1960s, performing in the southern United States before gaining national recognition in the 1970s.


Hill is best known for his hits such as "Down Home Blues" and "Cheating in the Next Room." He was signed to the Malaco Records label in the late 1970s, where he released several successful albums. Hill's music blended elements of blues, soul, and R&B, and his distinctive voice and emotional delivery earned him a loyal fan base. Tragically, Z.Z. Hill passed away on April 27, 1984, at the age of 48, but his music continues to be celebrated by fans of blues and soul music.
